President Buhari directed the committee to carry out its assignment  effectively“with dispatch”.After he has approved  establishment of 368 modern grazing sites in 25 states. Remember that the clashes between farmers and herders had made herders , especially Fulani herders to destroy many farms , killing many people and turn many farm land to desert.


According to a statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu,  President’ Muhammadu Buhari’s directive followed his approval of the recommendations of the committee chaired by his Chief of Staff, Professor Ibrahim Gambari.


However,  Nigeria government led by President Buhari ,is now so much interested in Creation of special grazing sites across 25 states across the country. But what consideration is given to the farmers that experience huge loss of life of their children ,wives and relatives when never the clashes occur ?, most especially in Benue state, Kogi and Western part of the country at large.  The outcome of the clashes had worsened the Economy of some states in Nigeria domestically, because the hardworking farmers that feed the Nation, had been displaced and even some are killed, hereby made some of the states to loose strength of becoming self- reliant in terms of provision of Agriculture products to feed the populace.

The committee commended the collection of field data on 368 Grazing Reserves across the 25 states to assess encroachment and encroachers, stakeholder engagements and sensitisation.

The Committee also recommended the production of maps and geo-mapping/tagging of sites, analysis of findings and report preparations as well as design appropriate communication on Grazing Reserves and operations.
